Rouhani: Govtˈs Diplomacy Based On People Demands, S.Leader’s Prudence

Tehran, Nov 4, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said on Sunday that the Iranian nation is determined to defend its legitimate rights and will protect it while believing in options of negotiations and resistance. Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with his cabinet ministers on Sunday. Referring to Aban 13 (Nov 4) marking the takeover of the US embassy in Tehran, he said the Iranian people by relying on their national strength will resist all foreign pressures. Opposing oppression and having constructive interactions with the world are integral parts of Iranˈs policies towards the world while the Iranian nation is committed to fighting aggressors and defending the country’s territorial integrity. Iranian negotiating team backs the country’s rights in talks with G5+1 using logics and diplomacy to attain its goals, he said. Iran’s negotiating team has won peopleˈs support while following the invaluable guidelines of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in talks with the G5+1, Rouhani said. “I hope G5+1 along with the US and other global powers would take advantage of such friendly atmosphere and avoid any mistakes,” he said. The Iranian people have no enmity with other nations such as the American people, but the root cause of concerns are the hostile policies against the Iranian nation, he said. Iran is very serious in talks and maintains its stands through logics and respecting others, he said. The negotiating team should be vigilant as struggles on the political scene is very complicated, he said./end
