Rouhani: Iran Spares No Effort To Help Iraqi Nation

Tehran, Oct 22, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran stands by the Iraqi nation and will spare no efforts in rendering services to Iraqi nation. President Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi. President Rouhani said the issue of terrorism has turned into a big problem for all countries in the region. Iran believes that the major role in fight against the terrorist groups should be on shoulder of Iraqi government, people and army and more unity among Iraqi tribes will bring them more success, Rouhani said. President Rouhani said that the so-called advocates of campaign against terrorism and those who have formed the coalition should do their best to cut financial channels of the terrorist groups. He criticized the United Nations for failure to take concrete action to block financial channels to Daesh Takfiri group. Security of the nations in the region are interrelated, said President Rouhani adding that terrorist groups have based their activities in Syria requiring the countries in the region to undertake an organized and coordinated task to eradicate the terror group. Bombardment of terrorist positions will be to the benefits of the Takfiri terror group in long-run as they try to decry injustice and exaggerate on air raids in order to recruit more inexperienced youths to continue their crimes and atrocities. There is no doubt that the sincere and close cooperation between Iran and Iraq will be to the benefit of both nations as well as the entire region, Rouhani said. The current visit of the Iraqi primer to Iran should be regarded as a turning point in relations and cooperation and choosing Tehran as the first leg of regional visit indicates the importance of friendly ties between the two nations. Calling for expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries, President Rouhani expressed the hope that trade between the two countries would hit over dlrs 30 billion by the end of 2015. Iran is ready to remove existing obstacles on the way of economic cooperation, he said. The two countries people should easily visit religious sites and businessmen should be able to broaden their scope of cooperation in both countries, he said. He expressed regret at presence of terrorist groups in Iraq and said they have targeted defenseless civilians and Iraqi nation. The Iraqi premier for his part thanked the warm hospitality of Iranian officials and said choosing Tehran as the first leg of regionl tour indicates to importance of Iran. The terrorists posed threat to the entire region and "we are quite confident that Iran will support us in our struggle with terrorist groups until their eradication, said Iraqi premier. Abadi said that Iraq is willing to develop relations and cooperation with Iran in all economic sectors. Prospects of cooperation between the two nations is very promising, he said. He said that Iraqi government is aware of the crimes committed by Mojahedeen Khalq Organization against the two nations, and that the Iraqi government demanded the the international organizations and institutes to prepare ground for their depart from Iraq and the Iraqi government never lets them take any action against Iran via the Iraqi borders./end
