Rouhani to visit Kazakhstan and Tajikistan

TEHRAN,July 23(MNA) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is scheduled to make trips to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in September. Rouhani will travel to Tajikistan to attend a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which will take place in Dushanbe on September 12-13. The president will meet with Tajik officials on the sidelines of the summit. Rouhani also plans to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Dushanbe. Prior to his trip to Tajikistan, Rouhani is scheduled to visit Astana at the invitation of Kazak President Nursultan Nazarbayev. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization or SCO is a Eurasian political, economic, and military organization which was founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are full members of the organization. Iran, India, Afghanistan, Mongolia and Pakistan are its observer states.
