Roundtable meeting held on Women’s participation in border protection

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ M.Batchimeg MP attended a round table meeting themed "Women’s participation in Border Security; Existing and evolving Leaders", co-organized by the University of Law Enforcement and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on March 3. As the head of the parliamentary group of Mongolia-OSCE, Ms Batchimeg has presented several proposals at annual OSCE Parliamentary Assemblies on expanding a cooperation with the OSCE into the areas of law enforcement and police operations, establishing regional research center basing on the University of Law Enforcement, and consolidating the OSCE as a bridge connecting the partner state in Europe and Asia. She expressed a satisfaction with the progresses made in implementation of some of the proposals. In the opening remarks for the roundtable meeting, she noted that due to global security issues that have become more complex, a promoting of the women’s involvement and capacity building have become not only a matter of gender equality but also an expedience. She shared her views and ran interesting discussions with the women representatives of police units, customs and law enforcement institutions. The trainings will continue at the University of Law Enforcement until the end of this week. Representatives of the OSCE will hold an official meeting at the Ministry of Justice.
