RT chief: First European Games will be a grandiose event

Baku, May 26, AZERTAC Rossiya Segodnya's Director General Dmitry Kiselev has expressed confidence that the forthcoming European Games, to be hosted by Baku from June 12-28, will be “a grandiose event”. In an interview with AZERTAC`s correspondent, he said the Games will be “the most brilliant” event in the life of the continent. He recalled a meeting with chairperson of the Baku-2015 First European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva at TASS headquarters this April. “That was an unforgettable meeting. We highlighted the meeting in ‘Vesti nedeli’ program.” Kiselev said he witnessed “the great scale” of the construction of sport facilities in Baku during his recent visit. “The Games are of crucial importance for the continent as they will set a benchmark for European Games,” he added.
