Rumors of Hassan Khomeini’s presidential candidacy denied

TEHRAN, May 22 (MNA) – The director of the Institute for Compilation and Publication of Imam Khomeini’s Works dismissed rumors on Monday that Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of Imam Khomeini, intends to run for the 2013 presidential election. Mohammad Ali Ansari said, “I, on behalf of Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, deny (rumors about) his candidacy for the election. This issue has its origin in the rumors spread by certain websites and media outlets.” Ansari also confirmed reports of a meeting between Hassan Khomeini and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He did not give any further details.
