Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister to arrive on two-day visit of Iran

EHERAN, November 17. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin arrives on a two-day visit in Teheran on Tuesday. Diplomats at the Russian embassy in Teheran said Rogozin is expected to hold talks with the Iranian Vice President in charge of science and technologies, Dr. Sorena Sattari, Defence Minister Hossein Dehghan, and the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies, Mahmoud Vaezi. Also, he will be received by First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri. Rogozin and Sattari will co-chair a session of the high-rank Russian-Iranian commission where they are co-chairmen. The commission was set up in August on the sidelines of the MAKS’2015 aerospace show to step up Russian-Iranian cooperation in science and advanced technologies. Rogozin said on his official page in Twitter in this connection on August 26 the two countries had agreed to cooperate on large projects and long-term programmes ensuring Russia and Iran’s competitive advantages. Apart from officials, the bilateral commission includes scientists, experts and technology specialists. Sorena Sattari said at the signing ceremony the commission’s activity would take relations between Moscow and Teheran in science and technologies to an unparalleled new level. Dmitry Rogozin supervises the Russian aerospace industry, shipbuilding, maritime operations, prevention and elimination of emergency situations, and the defence manufacturing sector. Read more
