Russia’s stance on Korean Peninsula remains unchanged - foreign ministry

MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Russia’s stance on the situation on the Korean Peninsula remains unchanged, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Thursday, answering a question whether it will be affected by Pyongyang’s statement on developing a hydrogen bomb. "I have not seen these reports (on the hydrogen bomb - TASS), I will check them and will comment on them later," she said. "Our stance on the situation on the Korean Peninsula is well known, it has not undergone any changes, I can only reaffirm it." According to the Korean Central News Agency, North Korean leader Kiim Jong-un said that his country was "ready to detonate an atomic bomb and a hydrogen bomb to reliably protect the sovereignty and dignity of the nation." Meanwhile, a TASS correspondent reported from Seoul that South Korea’s intelligence service did not believe the statement of the North Korean leader about the availability of the hydrogen bomb in this country.
