Russia and China support Iran-G 5+1 nuclear talks

Moscow, April 7, IRNA – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday that he held talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on different issues. He said that the two countries support nuclear talks between Iran and Group 5+1. Lavrov told a joint press conference that Moscow and Beijing have common stance on Iran's nuclear issue and support settlement of the dispute through negotiations. Russia's senior diplomat welcomed Lausanne understanding and pointed out that Swiss statement proved the right track for the political and diplomatic settlement. He expressed deep concern about the grave humanitarian plight in Yemen due to the Saudi air raids on the civilian targets. He said that he exchanged views about escalation of violence in Yemen with Wang Yi, adding that Russia and China support political solution to the Yemen crisis. He underlined necessity of settlement of Ukraine issue by full implementation of Minsk Agreement on February 12 and said that Russia and China want settlement of Ukraine crisis through negotiations away from violence. Lavrov said that Russia and China signed joint action plan to consolidate relations and cooperation between the two countries. Wang Yi, for his part, said that he is in Moscow to prepare ground for visit of Chinese President to Russia on May 8, 2015 . He added that the two sides exchanged views on important regional and international problems and issues of mutual interest.
