Russia-China dialogue in BRICS proves strategic partnership - diplomat

UFA, July 9. /TASS/. The cooperation as part of the BRICS group helps Russia and China to develop cooperation, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Thursday. "I can stress that relations of comprehensive strategic partnership with China fulfill their potential when we speak about the agenda of work in BRICS," said Ryabkov, who is Russia’s Sherpa in the group. "We coordinate our work and support each mutually," he said. Ryabkov also said "certain nuances in approaches" may emerge but stressed that "this is normal." "We have a chance to speak about all the issues very openly and cooperation with BRICS helps us to cooperate more closely," the diplomat said. BRICS is an informal association of five fast-growing economies - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The first official summit of the association was held in Russia’s Yekaterinburg in June 2009. Ever since, summit meetings have been held annually in each of the member states alternatively.
