Russia, China say any disputes must be resolved peacefully - Lavrov

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. Russia and China are certain that any disputes must be settled exclusively by peaceful methods, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Tuesday. "The forthcoming 70th anniversary of the United Nations to be marked this year is of special significance," the Russian foreign minister said. "China and Russia are strongly committed to strict observance of the UN Charter, international law norms, principles of inadmissibility of interference in internal affairs of countries, undermining nations’ sovereignty," Lavrov said. "We are certain that any disputes must be settled exclusively by peaceful methods," he said. "This is also so regarding the need to implement the Minsk agreements on the Ukrainian crisis settlement of February 12 and to promote the peace process for Syrian settlement," the minister said. "This is also true for the alarming situation in Yemen where any use of force should be stopped and the negotiating process between all the Yemeni sides should be resumed," Lavrov said. Read more
