Russia deeply concerned with conflicts in Yemen, Syria, Libya, Ukraine - Putin

NOVO-OGARYOVO, April 13. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday he was deeply concerned with military conflicts currently underway in Yemen, Syria, Libya and Ukraine. Putin held a meeting on Monday with heads of security councils of member states and countries with observer status of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). "Unfortunately our meeting today is takin its place against a complicated global situation," Putin said addressing the participants of the meeting. "We are all very concerned with the situation in North Africa, in particular with the current developments in Yemen, Syria and Libya." "It is beyond any doubt that Russia is deeply concerned with the situation in Ukraine," he said. The Russian president said he was well informed about the tasks facing the SCO members concerning the improvement of cooperation instruments in the fight against terrorism, organized crime and illegal drugs turnover. The SCO comprises six permanent members, which are China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and five countries enjoying the status of observers, which are Afghanistan, India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan.
