Russia has long-term interest to Latin America - Russian embassy in US

Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov presented his credentials to Secretary General of the Organization of American States Luis Almago, the Russian Embassy in Washington said on Wednesday. According to the Russian embassy to the United States, the meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere. Russia is one of the "most active permanent observers at the Organization of American States," the embassy said. "We consider the Organization as an important multilateral platform for the development of dialogue in the Western hemisphere, as a regional mechanism helping establish inter-American understanding and cooperation." "Russia’s interest to Latin America has a consistent, long-term character," the embassy said, adding that Moscow "has relations of strategic partnership" with many countries of this region.
