Russia, Kazakhstan have the same or similar views on most global issues - Putin

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Moscow and Nur-Sultan have the same or similar views on most regional and global issues, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said following his first meeting with new Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Wednesday. "The most pressing regional and global issues were touched upon during the negotiations. Russia and Kazakhstan have the same or similar views on most of them," Putin said. According to him, the two leaders confirmed their intention to continue cooperating within the United Nations and on other key international platforms, as well as to boost cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Putin also pointed to the increasing defense cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan, saying that ensuring regional stability was a crucial part of the two countries’ joint activities. The Russian president thanked his Kazakh counterpart and members of the Kazakh delegation for a fruitful and substantive conversation and expressed confidence that the talks would facilitate alliance relations between the two countries.
