Russia offers Cuba observer status at CSTO parliamentary assembly - Duma speaker

HAVANA, May 6. /TASS/. Russia proposes Cuba an observer status at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, Russian State Duma Speaker Sergey Naryshkin said on Wednesday. "We are positive about the Cuban parliament's interest in the work of the CSTO and its parliamentary assembly," said Naryshkin, who curently visits Havana. He recalled that Cuban delegates took part in the work of the assembly's council in St.Petersburg in mid-April. "We would welcome the Cuban parliament's participation in the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly's activities as an observer," Naryshkin said. The Collective Security Treaty Organisation comprises Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Read more
