Russia to promote positive, forward-looking agenda - Putin

MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Moscow is committed to constructive dialogue with its foreign partners and will promote a positive agenda. "As for Russia, it will continue to consistently be committed to strengthening global and regional security and stability and fully comply with its international obligations, build constructive cooperation with partners based on respect relying on international legal norms and the United Nations Charter," the Russian leader said at a ceremony of presenting credentials by ambassadors. "We will promote a positive, forward-looking agenda, work to ensure sustainable development, well-being and prosperity of humanity," he said. "Diplomacy has a good scope of work aimed at developing optimal solutions relying on the balance of different interests," the Russian president noted. According to Putin, "diplomats are called upon to facilitate the joint search for answers to large-scale challenges and threats, such as terrorism, drug trafficking, organized crime, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and climate change."
