Russia ready to provide Moscow venue for inter-Sudanese talks - Lavrov

MOSCOW, October 19. /TASS/. Russia is ready to further provide the Moscow venue for the inter-Sudanese talks, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said opening the meeting with Sudan’s Vice-President Hassabo Mohamed Abdel-Rahman on Monday. "We will continue active assistance to the African countries in solving the problems they are facing," Lavrov said. "Our efforts include the support of dialogue between Sudan and South Sudan." Lavrov reminded that in early September Moscow hosted the talks between the foreign ministers of Sudan and South Sudan on normalization of relations between Khartoum and Juba. "We are prepared to again provide the Moscow venue in the interests of the full normalization of relations with your neighbor in the framework of agreements approved by the African Union," Lavrov said.
