MOSCOW, May 27. /TASS/. Russia is planning to develop the relations of strategic partnership with Venezuela, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said opening talks with his Venezuelan counterpart Delcy Rodriguez on Wednesday. This is the fourth visit of the Venezuelan foreign minister to Moscow this year. Last time, she and Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro came to the Russian capital on May 9 to attend the Victory Day celebrations. "Maduro’s message to Russian President Vladimir Putin received wide publicity then," Lavrov said. "The cooperation between Russia and Venezuela is characterized by strategic partnership and its foundation was laid by President Hugo Chavez," Lavrov said. "We are planning to advance it," he added. Lavrov reminded that this year Russia and Venezuela celebrate the 70th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations. "We are entering a new decade with the commitment to achieve new results," he said. The Venezuelan foreign minister’s visit and the session of the Russian-Venezuelan intergovernmental commission on Tuesday will contribute to this, he stressed.
