Russia should play constructive role in resolving global conflicts - Japan’s PM

Moscow should have a constructive role in resolving international conflicts, including in settling the crisis in Syria, Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe told a press conference after the G7 summit on Friday. "Russia should play a constructive role in solving global conflicts, including in Syria," Abe said. "There is a need to maintain dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin to solve the Syrian crisis," he said. The conflict in eastern Ukraine should be resolved only by diplomatic means based on the international law, he also said, adding that "all sides should comply with the Minsk agreements." The G7 summit, assembling the UK, Germany, Italy, Canada, France, Japan and the United States, is held in Japan’s Ise-Shima National Park (Mie Prefecture) on the Pacific Coast. Read more
