Russia, Thailand have potential for cooperation - PM Medvedev

ST. PETERSBURG, May 18. /TASS/. Thailand is one of Russia’s key partners in the Asian-Pacific Region, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said at a meeting with his Thai counterpart Prayut Chan-o-Cha on Wednesday, adding that the two partners have massive potential for cooperation in various areas. "There are a number of documents being signed today, which demonstrates that Thailand is one of the key partners for the Russian Federation in the Asian-Pacific Region," he said. Medvedev stressed out the fact that the meeting is being held ahead of the 120th anniversary since the day when diplomatic relations were established between the two states. "We have to look to the future as there are reserves and we have to boost trade and ties in a number of areas," Medvedev said, adding that the visit of the Thai Prime Minister to Russia gives a chance to sum up the results of cooperation and map out future plans. Prayut Chan-o-Cha confirmed that the countries have huge potential to expand cooperation. Following the meeting the delegations of the two states took part in the talks. Read more
