Russia, Turkey to begin joint patrolling on Syria’s M4 motorway starting March 15

MOSCOW, March 5. /TASS/. Russia and Turkey will begin joint patrolling of an area of Syria’s M4 motorway from the Trumba settlement to the Ain al Havr settlement, the joint statement on the outcomes of the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan informs. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has read out the statement during the press conference on the outcomes of the talks. "They [Russia and Turkey] have agreed on the following: <…> to end all hostilities on the entire line of contact in the Idlib de-escalation zone starting 00:01 March 6, 2020," the statement says. "[The sides have agreed] to begin joint Russian-Turkish patrolling on the M4 motorway in the area from the Trumba settlement two kilometers north of Saraqib to the Ain al Havr settlement starting March 15, 2020," the document informs. "[The sides have agreed] to establish a security corridor six kilometers to the north and six kilometers to the south of the M4 motorway. The specific parameters of the security corridor’s operation will be approved by the Russian and Turkish Defense Ministries within seven days," the statement continues. Read more
