Russia, Venezuela foreign ministers to hold talks in Moscow May 27

MOSCOW, May 25. /TASS/. This week's forthcoming talks between the foreign ministers of Russia and Venezuela are aimed at giving new impetus to the whole complex of bilateral relations, the Russian Foreign ministry said on Monday. "On May 27, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks in Moscow with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Delcy Rodriguez, who will head the country’s delegation at the 10th session of the Intergovernmental Russian-Venezuelan High-Level Commission in Russia," a ministry statement said. "The forthcoming talks are aimed at giving new impetus to the whole complex of Russian-Venezuelan ties and confirming mutual willingness to further promote relations of strategic partnership between Moscow and Caracas," the ministry said, adding that Russia honoured the memory of Venezuela's late President Hugo Chavez, who helped lay the foundations for those relations. Russian diplomats also stressed that Moscow was grateful to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro for his participation in the May 9 celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in World War Two and for his appreciation of the Russian people’s decisive contribution to defeating fascism.
