Russia will continue supporting Cuba, Lavrov says

Russia will keep supporting Cuba as its strategic partner on the international arena, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday opening talks with his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla. "I would like to once again confirm now, in 2019, which marks 60 years since the victory of the Cuban Revolution, that we will continue supporting our strategic ally, with which we share common history, commitment to the principles of international law and sovereign equality of states," Lavrov stressed. According to Lavrov, Moscow values its trust-based foreign policy dialogue with Havana in the framework of strategic partnership, which has been developing in all areas.
