Russian, Chinese foreign ministers to discuss Putin's visit to China

TASHKENT, May 24. /TASS/. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov are going to discuss President Vladimir Putin's visit to China scheduled for June, Minister Wang said here on Tuesday on the sidelines of a conference of foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's member-states. "I'd like to speak with you about President Putin's forthcoming visit to China so that we could guarantee success of that important visit in view of the fact there will be important top-level negotiations," he said. Wang Yi also said he planned to discuss with Lavrov the development of bilateral relations, coordination of the two countries' positions, and preparations for the June summit of the SCO. "Chinese-Russian cooperation plays a leading role in international affairs and we have a very good opportunity to synchronize watches on a range of issues," he said. Read more
