Russian deputy foreign minister, Libyan deputy PM discuss situation in Libya

MOSCOW, May 25. /TASS/. The situation in Libya was in the focus of a meeting between Russian president’s special envoy for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and visiting Libyan Deputy Prime Minister Mahdi al-Labad, the Russian foreign ministry said on Monday. "The sides discussed the situation in Libya, prospects for intra-Libyan reconciliation and a government of national unity," the ministry said. "Special focus was made on the necessity to take efficient efforts to rebuff the growing terrorist threat in Libya and in the region of the Middle East and North Africa in general." Apart from that, Bogdanov and al-Labad discussed a number of aspects of further strengthening of traditionally friendly relations between Russia and Libya, the ministry noted. Read more
