MOSCOW, December 6. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin will start his Latin American tour Tuesday to discuss trade, energy and defense cooperation in Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba, his secretariat said. Rogozin will visit the Venezuelan capital Caracas on December 6 to attend a high-level bilateral committee and discuss cooperation in energy, agriculture, trade and industry. On December 7, the Russian deputy prime minister will continue his work in Managua, Nicaragua. The visit to Nicaragua will be held in the run-up to the Day of Friendship with Russia, a state holiday established in 2015 and marked on December 12. The tour will end with a visit to Cuba, where Rogozin will meet with Vice president of the Council of Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz and co-chair a meeting of the Russian-Cuban intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and scientific cooperation. A number of documents are planned for signing during the meeting, including agreements on modernization of Cuba’s rail network and power generation facilities. As part of the visit, Russia will hand over to Cuba several dozens of Russian-made Kamaz trucks, delivered under previous agreements between the Russian truck-maker and Cuba. Read more
