Russian Dy FM: Iran, G5+1 Close To Making Breakthrough

Moscow, Nov 24, IRNA – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and senior nuclear negotiator Sergei Ryabkov said on Saturday that Iran and the G5+1 have come close to making a breakthrough. Ryabkov told reporters on Saturday that Iran and the G5+1 in the present round of talks have become very close to a breakthrough but there are differences that have to be patched up. “We have become really very close to a breakthrough in talks but I cannot say for sure that this will be materialized.” He said Arak heavy water reactor is one of the bones of contention between the two sides. He added that todays talks will show to what extent the negotiating parties are ready to take steps towards signing an agreement. Elsewhere in his remarks, he said it seems that unknown sources in the western delegations have launched wide-scale efforts to put the blame on Iran for lack of progress in the nuclear talks. “We consider such issues unfair. The Iranian and the G5+1 delegations have been in talks in Geneva since Thursday to reach a final accord on solving Irans nuclear issue. Today’s talks, attended by the foreign ministers of Iran and the G5+1 will continue.”/end
