Russian envoy, Hamas senior member discuss restoration of Palestinian unity

MOSCOW, February 13. /TASS/. Russian Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and the African Countries Mikhail Bogdanov and Deputy Chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau Mousa Abu Marzook have discussed the speedy restoration of the Palestinian national unity, according to a report released by the Russian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday. "The sides shared their positions on the ways to quickly restore the Palestinian national unity for a just settlement of the Palestinian problem based on the corresponding resolutions of the UN and its Security Council," the ministry noted. The interparliamentary meeting involving the delegations of Fatah, Hamas and other movements was held in Moscow on February 11-13. The sides failed to coordinate the ultimate statement at the meeting: the Hamas and the Islamic Jihad Movement refused to endorse the document. Read more
