Russian expert terms JCPOA as a valid int'l document

Moscow, Nov 19, IRNA – Head of Russian Center for Political Technologies Sergej Michejew stressed that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is a valid internatioanl document which has been registered by the United Nations Security Council. Talking to IRNA on Saturday, he said the JCPOA is not a mutual agreement between Iran and a single country which could be easily cancelled by one of the parties. Underlining the fact that Iran has been faithful to the content of the nuclear deal so far, the expert said that the important issue is that the International Atomic Energy Agency which monitors full implementation of the deal by Iran has confirmed the point. As a document endorsed by the UNSC, he added, the document should be respected by all UN member states. Michejew went on to note that the US president-elect Donald Trump, for these very reasons, will be unable to tear the document the way he had promised his supporters during his campaign. He believed Trump made many promises during his election campaign which he could never deliver so, as many experts believe, he will not act unwisely to ignore the nuclear deal. 1378/IRNA
