Russian FM Welcomes Iran’s Active Role In Resolving Syria Crisis

Moscow, Sept 17, IRNA – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov welcomed Iran’s active role in process of the peaceful settlement of the critical situation in Syria. Based on a report by the Russian Foreign Ministry, he made the remarks while outlining the activities of the Islamic group-4 regarding the issue of Syria. Lavrov said Iran, as a big Islamic power, plays an influential role in regional developments. The Islamic Republic of Iran has always announced its transparent views regarding the peaceful settlement of the crisis in Syria. President Hassan Rohani has repeatedly stated that Iran is concentrating on efforts to stop outbreak of any war against Syria. He has also stressed that the war-mongers would have to pay very dearly for any war in Syria. /end
