Russian foreign minister accepts invitation to visit Bahrain next year

MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accepted the invitation of his Bahraini colleague Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa to visit Bahrain, hoping to make time for the visit next year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between both states. "I am grateful to my colleague for the invitation to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain, which I am glad to accept," Lavrov said during a joint press conference on the outcomes of the talks. "I hope I will be able to do it next year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Bahrain." Bahrain has declared its independence on August 14, 1971, with the USSR recognizing it as an independent state on August 26, 1971.
