Russian, Kyrgyz presidents sign Declaration on strengthening bilateral alliance

MOSCOW, June 20. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Kyrgyz counterpart Almazbek Atambayev, who is currently on a state visit to Russia, have signed a Declaration on strengthening bilateral alliance and strategic partnership. According to the document, the parties confirm their intent to boost strategic partnership and continue coordinating foreign policy activities. "The parties will boost cooperation aimed at ensuring joint defense within the common military space," the declaration reads. In addition, Moscow and Bishkek "will pay particular attention to ensuring food safety, developing production specialization and cooperation in the water and energy sphere, agriculture, machine-building, light industry, transport, communications and military filed," the document adds. The two leaders also emphasized their countries’ plans "to boost cooperation in the fight against terrorism and other manifestations of extremism, combat the financing of terrorism, various forms of transnational crime, corruption, as well as arms and drug and trafficking, and cultural property smuggling."
