Russian, Lebanese presidents to discuss trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with his Lebanese counterpart Michel Aoun who is paying an official visit to Moscow. The talks are expected to focus on the issue of cooperation in economy, trade and the humanitarian field. The Kremlin press service said earlier that "the Russian and Lebanese presidents will discuss the future development of trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Lebanon." "The leaders will also exchange views on current issues of international and regional importance," the press service added. The problem of Syrian refugees is expected to become one of the main issues of the upcoming talks. Prior to his visit to Moscow, Lebanese President said that that the country’s construction companies are ready to participate in the reconstruction of post-war Syria. According to Aoun, they plan to construct railway lines from Homs to Damascus, which would deliver construction materials from Mediterranean ports.
