Russian MP: Economic Sanctions Against Iran Should Be Lifted

Moscow, March 4, IRNA - Head of Russian Federative Council for International Affairs Michael Markov said on Monday that it is expected that all economic sanctions against Iran would be lifted. Speaking to reporters, Markov said it is expected that during the upcoming talks between Iran and G5+1 on March 17, all economic sanctions against Tehran would be lifted. In recent days a very significant event occurred on Tehran's nuclear issue, he said adding that the Iranian president declared that the country is strongly against production and proliferation of nuclear weapons. Iranˈs Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a decree has banned production and proliferation of nuclear weapons as a religiously forbidden act, he said. Such remarks created a new prospect for the upcoming talks between Iran and G5+1, he said. The ground is well prepared to resolve Iranˈs nuclear issue, he said. Iran had already declared that it had no plan to produce or proliferate unclear weapons, he said./end
