Russian MP: Iran-Russia have understanding on ME issues

Moscow, Nov 18, IRNA – Head of Russian Duma International Affairs Commission said that Iran and Russia have understanding on the Middle East issues and ways to settle the problems. Chairman of the Russian State Duma's International Affairs Committee Alexei Pushkov, who accompanied Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin in Tehran visit, told reporters on Monday afternoon in Moscow that Tehran visit was a success and the speaker discussed a wide range of issues with Iranian officials. He added that the most important issue of talks in Tehran was way of confrontation with terrorism, especially fight against terrorist group of ISIS, as the most dangerous terrorist group in the Middle East region. Pushkov continued that danger of ISIS is not threatening just Syria and Iraq, but the whole countries of the region are being threatened. In the meetings with the Iranian side, the issue of Ukraine was raised and the Russian side explained its evaluation of Ukraine critical situation. He also referred to expansion of cooperation between Iran and Russia and said that the two sides underlined necessity of expansion of economic cooperation and commercial exchange level. Pushkov said in Tehran talks the issue of oil price and its decline in the world market was discussed, too. He continued that Iran, Russia and many other counties are dissatisfied with decline of oil price. The Russian senior MP also referred to talks between Iran and Venezuela Oil Ministers as well as discussions between Iranian and Iraqi officials for stabilization of oil price in the world market. Pushkov said that Iran, as a member of OPEC, cannot decrease its oil production unilaterally, but can proposes the issue in the organization./end
