Russian, Nicaraguan diplomats discuss trade and economic cooperation

MOSCOW, June 16. /TASS/. Russian and Nicaraguan deputy foreign ministers and co-chairmen of the intergovernmental commission, Sergei Ryabkov and Luis Molina Cuadra, on Tuesday discusse prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic and other spheres, the Russian foreign ministry said. Molina is currently leading a representative Nicaraguan delegation visiting Russia. The delegation also includes, Nicaraguan president’s special envoy for relations with Russia Laureano Ortega and Finance minister Ivan Acosta. "As part of contacts following Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s visit to Nicaragua on March 25, 2015, the two diplomats discussed in detail prospects for further expansion of Russian-Nicaraguan cooperation in the trade and economic and other spheres," the ministry said. "Taking part in the meeting were officials from Russian ministries, governmental and commercial structures. The meeting was held in a constructive, friendly atmosphere." Earlier on Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with Laureano Ortega. "The sides confirmed that their countries had similar or identical approaches to key problems of today and reiterated commitment to closer cooperation between Russia and Nicaragua on the international and regional tracks," the Russian foreign ministry said.
