Sacrilege to Islamic sanctities orchestrated by Zionists: official

Tehran, Jan 19, IRNA – Yahya Rahim Safavi, a senior advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei said sacrilege against Islamic sanctities is a move engineered by the Zionist regime and the West. Underlining that the Muslim world is emerging as a global heavyweight, Safavi said Islam is speedily spreading across Europe so that even many Christians have joined Islam, Sepahnews.ir reported. Recently a Western media insulted the holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH), Safavi said in a reference to publication of cartoons of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) by satiric weekly Charlie Hebdo, adding that such acts could be seen in support for the French government and the presence of Israeli prime minister anti-terrorism rallies in Paris. Safavi said the French government which regards itself as one of the flag bearers of Western culture has now come to the conclusion that liberal democracy has been defeated and has led to destruction of human values. Meanwhile, he said the Islamic culture, on the other hand, is making its way through Europe day by day.
