Safavi: Big Powers Have To Make Deal With Iran To Use Regional Interests

Tehran, Dec 19, IRNA – Supreme Leader's senior advisor Brigadier General Yahya Rahim Safavi said on Tuesday big powers have to make a deal with Iran in order to use their interests in the region. He made the remarks in the closing ceremony of the two-day Forum on Geography, Development, Defense and Security which kicked off on Monday in Tehran with a theme of "Future Perspective of Persian Gulf and Hormuz Strait: Opportunities and Challenges". Safavi, as the secretary of gathering, said Iran will have the first and final say in the region within the next 50 years because of its most strategic location in the world and therefore big regional and international powers will have to make a deal with Iran to enjoy their interests in the Persian Gulf and Hormuz Strait. He said Iran is a key factor in the region and so it has the first and final say for others in the region. Safavi noted that Persian Gulf and Hormuz Strait will be the focal point of attention because there is rarely any region in the world more important than the Persian Gulf. He added that the Persian Gulf region will definitely be the origin of many political, economic and cultural impacts in the future and Iran’s presence in the Hormuz Strait as the most powerful country of the region will be vital./end
