Safavi: Peopleˈs Massive Turnout In Presidential Election Guarantees National Security

Tehran, June 10, IRNA - Senior Advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said on Sunday that peopleˈs massive turnout in the upcoming presidential election guarantees national security and will help continue development projects in Iran. Election in Iran is interlinked to national security, interests as well as peopleˈs welfare, he said. The great Iranian nation would create another political epic, he said. Solidarity and unity of the public will help them overcome pressures exerted by foreign countries as well as domestic issues, he said. On developments in Syria, he said the US, Zionist regime and certain regional states such as Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey are trying to mislead Islamic awareness in Syria and depict an untrue image of the country. The significant victory of Syrian army in al-Qusayr should be regarded as a bargaining chip in Geneva II conference for President Bashar al-Assad, he said. The policies of the US and Zionist regime supported by petro-dollars of Qatar and Saudi Arabia are doomed to failure, he underlined.
