Salehi In Ankara To Consult On Regional Developments

Ankara, July 13, IRNA – Iran's FM Ali Akbar Salehi arrived in Ankara on Friday to consult with Turkish officials on Egypt and other regional developments. He is to discuss recent events in Egypt and dismissal of ex-president Mohamed Mursi as well as Syrian developments with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu. Turkish TV News Network reported that Iran and Turkey as two countries clearly opposed to military coup in Egypt, are to consult on the issue. The network added that the two foreign ministers are expected to issue a joint statement at the end of their discussion emphasizing respect for national sovereignty of Egyp and Egyptiansˈ vote. Turkish News Agency “Anadolu” reported that Salehi, before his trip to Turkey, had a telephone conversation with Egyptian foreign minister and underlined necessity of respect for the people’s vote and prevention of suspension of process of democratization./end
