Salehi Attends Ghanaian President's Oath Taking Ceremony

Accra, Jan 8, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi took part in the oath taking ceremony of the Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama in the capital city of Accra on Monday. The ceremony was attended by more than 18 officials and special representatives from different countries. Salehi arrived in Accra Sunday in continuation of his African tour to attend the ceremony and hold talks with Ghanaian officials. Mahama won presidential elections held on December 7 by gaining 50.7 percent of the votes to become president of the country with 24 million population. Ghana is a country in West Africa. It is bordered by Ivory Coast to the west, Burkina Faso to the north, Togo to the east, and the Gulf of Guinea to the south./end
