Salehi Determined To Continue AEOI Current Programs

Tehran, August 19, IRNA – Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi has said he is determined to pursue programs set by former AEOIs officials. Salehi who served as Iran's former foreign minister (January 2011-August 2013), has recently been appointed as the AEOIs chairman by President Hassan Rohani. Talking to IRNA, he said he is to continue the organization’s programs which are already well-defined and clear in all aspects. Reiterating the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program, Salehi said the issue of Iran’s nuclear program is one of the focal topics in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He stressed he would try to settle the issue with the help of a cohesive negotiating team which is to be named by President Rohani in a near future. As for the date or venue of the next round of talks between Iran and the Group 5+1, Salehi said, Nothing has been clear yet./end
