Salehi: Iran Nuclear Case To Be Legally, Technically Closed Shortly

Tehran, Nov 12, IRNA – Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali-Akbar Salehi said on Monday that Iranˈs nuclear case will be technically and legally closed shortly. Salehi said on Monday the IAEA and the G5+1 are two complementary subjects because good cooperation with the IAEA would prepare a positive atmosphere in the G5+1 and vice-versa. He said the Iranian nation should know that the government proceeds with prudence, vigilance and wisdom in light of guidelines of the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution and will never sacrifice national interests and rights of the nation. Speaking in a televised interview, Salehi commented on his agreement with the IAEA on the sidelines of a meeting with the IAEA Chief Yukia Amano. “Today in our agreement we mentioned all subjects clearly and transparently.” He said, “We do by no means intend to make a recourse to the points whose files are already closed and will not allow their case to be re-opened.” More on the issue, he said technical experts of Iran and the IAEA will have a meeting on Monday and we do not plan to touch on details before any conclusion and we will deal with issues upon reaching an agreement. As for the IAEA demands from Iran on future measures, he said, “We are not obliged to introduce to the IAEA the nuclear facilities that we are to build in the future and only 180 days before entry of nuclear substances there, we will inform the IAEA of them.” He said the majority of Iran’s nuclear facilities will be in southern coasts of Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea while another part would be in central part of the country. “The power plants should have access to a huge source of water. The new power plants will be supported by desalination, mainly located in southern parts of the country.” As for the countryˈs activities in the field of laser, Salehi said nearly 10 years ago, Iran was engaged progressive laser activities . “We have national laser center, belonging to entire part of the country because laser has medical and industrial applications.”/end
