Salehi: Iran Will Not Abandon Enrichment Right

Bushehr, Sept 24, IRNA – Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali-Akbar Salehi said on Monday that Iran would not give up its right to uranium enrichment. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony to ink a protocol for temporarily taking over Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant from Russia, Salehi said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran would not abandon its enrichment right based on the NPT and the IAEA charter but issue pertaining to enrichment level is negotiable.” He said the enrichment right is a sovereignty right and we will not retreat from it./end
