Salehi: Istanbul May Be Venue Of Iran-G5+1 Nuclear Talks

Ankara, Jan 19, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Wednesday that Iran and G5+1 nuclear talks will most probably be held in Istanbul. Upon arriving in Ankara from Kuniya, Salehi told reporters that Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu is in direct contact with both Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran Saeed Jalili and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherin Ashton and they will announce the venue of the talks in near future. Salehi termed the Turkish people as brothers and said, Iran and Turkey enjoy friendly and very strong relations because 40 percent of Iranians speaks Turkish. Salehi is scheduled to meet Turkish President Abdollah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Minister of Environment and Housing Erdogan Bayraktar and to take part in the two countries’ Joint Economic Commission session./end
