Salehi Leaves Jeddah For Tehran

Tehran, May 14, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi departed Jeddah for Tehran Monday evening. After attending a meeting of contact group of member states of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) about crisis in Mali, which was held in permanent secretariat venue of the OIC in Jeddah, departed the port city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In addition to attending the meeting, Salehi also met with Saudi Arabiaˈs Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal, Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr and Secretary General of OIC Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu. The African Republic of Mali has been facing tension since March 2012 after a military coup when north rebels took over a large part of the northern part of the country. Iran, as an active member of the OIC and chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), is trying to solve the crisis by all political means./end
