Salehi: Liberation Of Palestinian Territories, Culmination Of Islamic Awakening

Tehran, June 13, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Tuesday that the Islamic Awakening movement will be culminated by liberating the occupied Palestinian territories and driving out occupiers from Holy Qods. He made the remarks in a meeting with a group of Egyptian physicians and specialists and members of martyrs families. He said that the revolution of Egyptian people was a turning point at the national level for Egypt and at regional and international levels. Salehi said that a new chapter will open for the Egyptian people after the current transitional period which will serve the interests of the Egyptian nation, the Muslim world and Palestine. He said that Iran and Egypt are the two great civilizations with enormous common grounds and cultural and social affinities, adding that the Iranian nation has not forgotten the Egyptian nation's welcome of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. He said that cultural and economic cooperation between Iran and Egypt continued despite break-up of relations in protest against Cairo's establishment of diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv regime. Salehi expressed pleasure with the current waves of Islamic Awakening movements and said that the trend will benefit the Muslim world and is to the detriment of the US and the Zionist regime. He said that there is no doubt that enemies of Iran and Egypt will suffer major blow thanks to the waves of the Islamic Awakening movements. Salehi said that the two great nations of Islam have great capacity to develop economic and cultural cooperation. He said that Iran has made great achievements in medical science, nano-technology, airspace technology, stem cells and treatment of infertility and would not hesitate to share its experience with the Egyptian nation. He hoped that growth in tourism cooperation will help the two nations get acquainted with each other. Ashraf Farouq, representing the Egyptian martyrs families and Hamdi Saeed chairman of Egyptian doctors association briefed Salehi on the trend of the Egyptian revolution./end
