Salehi: Zionist Regime Seeks Fall Of Syrian Govt, Chaos In Syria

Tehran, July 30, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Sunday that Zionists call for continued chaos and collapse of the Syrian legitimate government. Salehi made the remarks in a joint press conference with visiting Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem. The plot has been masterminded by certain countries mainly the Zionist regime, he said. Salehi said that it is surprising that when the Zionist regime seeks sabotage and lawlessness in Syria, certain governments in the region put seal of approval on such conspiracy. Reforms in Syria is time consuming and this should be considered by the Syrian opposition groups, he said. President Bashar al-Assad needs more time to fulfill his promises, Salehi said. Salehi said that it is quite obvious that Zionists and its allies mastermind conspiracies against the Syrian government. Syria is regarded as a significant country in the region and atop of resistance movement to Israeli occupying regime, he said calling for the regional nations to help neutralize the plots masterminded against the Syrian government. He advised countries in the region to adopt rationality in dealing with the issue. It is not possible to foresee the unpredictable consequences of such measures which might engulf other countries in the region too, he warned. This is a whimsical hallucination to assume that change of government in Syria will bring peace and stability to the region, Salehi underlined. He advised countries in the region to exercise vigilance and adopt a benevolent approach to deal with current developments in Syria, otherwise all should bear losses. There is no doubt that Syrian people will attain triumph, he said. Salehi said he and al-Moallem studied mutual relations as well as regional developments mainly the plots hatched against Syria./end
