Sanctions Against Iran, Futile Exercise : Pakistani MP

Islamabad, July 3, IRNA – A Pakistani parliamentarian on Monday said that sanctions against Iran have proved a futile exercise. Speaking to IRNA Jamiyat Ulema-e-Islam-F Senator Dr. Muhammad Ismail Buledi said that Iran has become an excellent example of resilience in the world. Washington and its western allies accuse Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons under the cover of a civilian nuclear program, while they have never presented any corroborative evidence to substantiate their allegations. Iran denies the charges and insists that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only. Tehran stresses that the country has always pursued a civilian path to provide power to the growing number of Iranian population. Ismail Buledi said that the sanctions against Iran have failed miserably. “They (the west) have been imposing sanctions on Iran for the past many years but the Islamic Republic is getting stronger with each day passing by,” said the political leader. He pointed out that Iran has courageously fought all western moves. “US has no justification to put pressure on an independent state, in fact this is part of an anti-Islam policy of the West,” said JUI leader. The Senator was confident that western states will not be able to accomplish their evil designs against Muslims. To a question the politician said that oil sanctions would have no effect on Iran as many countries in the world would continue to buy Iranian oil despite sanctions. “They will not come under American pressure,” added Ismail Buledi. “Yes there is no other view to that the Islamic Republic of Iran has become a precedent for the whole world. I salute the people and government of Iran for resisting the western pressure,” the parliamentarian said. He advised other Muslim countries to follow the example of Iran. Ismail Buledi urged all Muslims states to shun their differences and unite against a common enemy. “All Muslim countries should support Iran and resist the American pressure,” said the Senator./end
