Sanctions Against Iran's Medical Sector Unacceptable: Activist

Ankara, Oct 18, IRNA – Turkey's former health minister said on Saturday that sanction against Iran's medical sector is against the international rules and regulations and unacceptable. Talking to IRNA, Rajab Akdagh noted that it is unacceptable to target a county's medical sector by sanctions. He reiterated that such moves are against the basic human rights principles. Politically motivated sanctions against Iran on the pretext of its peaceful nuclear activities, has prevented import of drugs, particularly vital medicines to the country. World powers are denying the definite and unequivocal effects of their sanctions on the lives and health of the innocent Iranian citizens and shirk responsibility for violating human rights of thousands of patients in need of medicines. Such inhuman measures which run counter to the fundamental principles of human rights have even drawn condemnations of European mass media./end
